Rain, rain, go away: Flooding concerns have residents worried
News

VALLEY VIEW, OH (WOIO)-

All the recent rain could mean more flooding in the area.

In fact, some areas have already seen more than an inch of rain and they could be hit by another inch, if not more!

The Cuyahoga River is at a fairly normal level right now but with the ground already saturated from two days of rain...heavy rain overnight is expected push this river to it's limits again.

If the Cuyahoga River goes over it's bank again, it will be the fourth time it has flooded this year bringing more misery to the thousands of who live in the flood zone.

For the past 11 months, it has rained like never before. Year to date: we are 23 inches above  normal. Countless basements have flooded during our half dozen or so torrential downpours, and each time, waterways like the Black and Cuyahoga Rivers overflow their banks, entire homes and businesses are left in ruin.

In fact, in the February 28th flooding, the Cuyahoga River reached it's second highest level ever.

The most recent storm is not expected to produce anything close to that. Still word of yet another possible flood has people in Valley View concerned.

"My prayers go out to the families and stuff."

"We should be getting snow not rain!"
